This festival will be the, ahem, apple of your eye.

Every autumn, the Congregational Church of Salem holds a food fest focusing on apple dishes — dishes that are multitudinous and delicious.

When this year’s event kicks off at 9 a.m. Saturday on the Salem Green, you’ll see all sorts of apple culinary creations, from pies to fritters to pancakes to sauce to cider, that you'll be able to buy. You might even want to indulge in apple sauerkraut hot dogs.

In addition, there will be family-friendly games and activities.

Salem Apple Festival, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday or until sold out, Salem Green, Route 85 (244 Hartford Road), Salem; tccsalem.org.
