Make a Difference: Riverfront Children's Center
WHO: A Groton family with a 3-year-old son.
AGENCY: The Riverfront Children's Center Inc.
THEIR SITUATION: In October, one parent was in a car accident, which left the family with no income. The other parent recently graduated from a training program and, as of this month, both parents have entry-level jobs. Their long-term goal is to continue their educations so their family becomes self-sufficient. They have been unable to catch up on rent and bills that backed up after the accident. With cold weather setting in, they are concerned about the additional costs for heat, as well as warm clothing for their son.
WHAT TO GIVE: Gift cards for food, clothing and gas are most needed. Cash donations will help Riverfront pay for rent and utilities.
HOW TO DONATE: Stop by or mail donations to RFCC, 476 Thames St., Groton, CT 06340.
