Matt Otto, lead rigger at Mystic Seaport Museum, works on the seizing the futtocks on the main mast shrouds for the Mayflower II Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the museum's H.B. duPont Preservation Shipyard.
The ship, built in 1956, is a replica of the vessel that brought the Pilgrims to the new world in 1620 and was built in England as a gift to the United States in thanks for support during and after WWII.
Mayflower II will depart Mystic in the spring in time for 400th anniversary festivities in Boston and Cape Cod Bay.
