Groton Regional Theatre presents a Ken Ludwig Christmas comedy
Ken Ludwig, who wrote the farces “Lend Me a Tenor” and “Moon Over Buffalo,” turned his writerly focus to the holidays for his play “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
Groton Regional Theatre presented the show last year and obviously knows a crowd-pleaser when it sees one. It is staging the comedy again this weekend and next. The cast includes Mike Crane, Bob Gwin, Allison Thorp, Kaleigh Allen and Andy Plasse.
GRT says that because it is a play for both children and adults "who believe in the magic of the season," the theater is offering special ticket prices. Indeed, it’s hard to beat these totals: tickets are $15 for adults, $6 for kids ages 10 to 21, and free for kids 10 and younger when accompanied by an adult.
The storyline finds a girl trying to figure out why Santa Claus didn’t stop at her house for the previous year’s Christmas.
“’Twas the Night Before Christmas,” runs Dec. 13-22, Groton Senior Center, 102 Newtown Road, Groton; 7 p.m. Fridays and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sunday; $15 for adults, $6 for kids ages 10 to 21, and free for kids 10 and younger when accompanied by an adult; www.grotontheatre.org.
