Are you progressive enough for the reinvented ultra-liberal Joe Biden?

Directly after securing the nomination, the once moderate Biden took a hard turn to the left and adopted a platform nearly identical to the one championed by Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. The 110-page Biden-Sanders “Unity” manifesto picks up the gauntlet President Obama threw down hoping to fundamentally change America.

The Biden-Sanders manifesto maps out a plan for post-Trump America, leaning heavily on radical racial transformation and an unsustainable emphasis on combating the climate crisis and pursuing environmental justice. In fact, often the manifesto conflates racial inequities with a litany of potential global climate catastrophes. Here is a quote pulled from the manifesto's first page.

"Like so many crises facing the United States, the impacts of climate change are not evenly distributed in our society or our economy. Communities of color, low-income families, and indigenous communities have long suffered disproportionate and cumulative harm from air pollution, water pollution, and toxic sites. Highways have been built to enforce racial segregation in our cities, with federal dollars and federal policy support."

So, somehow, climate change and air pollution are racially targeting indigenous communities and people of color unequally? This statement is wildly divisive and unsupportable.

Let's not forget most of the climate initiatives Biden wants to implement are intertwined with the much-criticized illogical "Green New Deal," which has a sticker price on the low end of $52 trillion (over the next 10 years); and at the high end, $93 trillion.

We are all thirsty for clean air and water, but what Biden proposes is economically irresponsible and impossible. Biden makes a promise to America to install 500 million solar panels and 60,000 wind turbines. We have not perfected this science, and while the goals are noble, there is still a myriad of environmental and practical questions surrounding solar and wind power.

The second section in the manifesto is titled, "Protecting Communities by Reforming our Criminal Justice System."

One particular paragraph caught my eye. "Police brutality is a stain on the soul of our nation. It is unacceptable that millions of people in our country have good reason to fear they may lose their lives in a routine traffic stop, or while standing on a street corner, or while playing with a toy in a public park. It is unacceptable that Black parents must have ‘the talk’ with their children, to try to protect them from the very police officers who are supposed to be sworn to protect and serve them.”

It's borderline criminal for an elected leader to take up such a hostile position towards law enforcement and this entire plank on Biden’s platform can be considered an insult to law-abiding citizens and police officers nationwide. Yes, there are police who act inappropriately, and those officers should be held criminally responsible, but the general statement that Blacks should fear for their lives when they leave their homes is offensive and objectionable.

On page 17 of the manifesto the sub-heading states, "Putting Homeownership in Reach and Guaranteeing Safe Housing for Every American." It reads, "Democrats believe the government should take aggressive steps to increase the supply of housing, especially affordable housing, and address long-standing economic and racial inequities in our housing markets. We will equalize access to affordable credit and improve access to down payment assistance to help families of color, low-income families, and rural buyers purchase homes. We will supercharge investment in the Housing Trust Fund to greatly expand the number of affordable housing units on the market, reducing home prices."

Discrimination in any capacity at any level is disheartening and always needs to be prevented, but this previous paragraph is ensuring that the federal government, under Biden, will willfully manipulate housing costs, lowering the value of everyone's home. It's a form of democratized housing, where the objective is to have one national zoning map, which would wreck suburbs, placing everything under federal control. In a "National appraisal system," banks will be regulated, restricting the amount of capital they could lend per geographical location. If your home is worth $500,000 and you are looking to sell, potential buyers may only be given access in that area to $300,000, leveling the playing field but vaporizing the middle class.

This is just a small sample of what Joe Biden and his team are hoping to implement. It would make him the most progressive president since Franklin Delano Roosevelt. This sharp move to the left is uncharacteristic for Biden which leads me to believe he is being controlled by outside influences. This manifesto may be the most economically destructive document ever suggested by a major American party!

Joe Biden has given the American people five decades of political mediocrity. It’s a mistake to give this Washington empty suit, who is clearly being manipulated by the progressive wing, four more years of awkward incompetence.
