Make a Difference: New London Homeless Hospitality Center
Who: Tom and his two grown sons
Agency: New London Homeless Hospitality Center
The situation: All three men, who have spent time in the Homeless Hospitality Center, now have housing but are struggling with ongoing health challenges and very limited income. Their landlord contacted the HHC and expressed concern that the stress is reaching a critical point. They're often without food, are behind on rent, and have almost no furnishings.
What to give: Items like pots, dishes, and utensils as well as donations or gift cards would be a big help.
To donate: Gift cards or items can also be dropped off c/o Rachael Perkins at the Hospitality Center, 325 Huntington St., New London. For more information call Rachael at (860) 867-8469. HHC has also set up a gofundme page to collect financial donations at https://charity.gofundme.com/making-a-difference-tom.
