Do ads have tie to Elci column?

In trying to understand why The Day frequently prints columns by Lee Elci, I am wondering if the fact that Elci also has paid color ads in The Day (see page A6 of the Dec. 23 print edition) gets his opinion articles published more frequently? Although there are many letters that are void of fact on the Opinion page, it seems out of character for The Day's editorial board to continually print Lee Elci's convenient omissions of reality and off-balance rants, possibly giving his for-profit media stream more listeners when they learn where to hear him daily. Although I personally appreciate and support The Day's work in printing a daily community newspaper and understand that they are running a very difficult business model, I would like to hear what The Day's policy on paid advertisers is when it comes to additional (print) support?

Editor's note: Whether Mr. Elci's radio station advertises in our publication or not has no influence on offering his column as a feature for Day readers. The column runs on Thursdays. Its intent is to give voice to conservative ideas from a person who is in touch with the local community through his conservative radio talk show.
