Durham, N.H. — India Pagan of New London became the 18th 1,000-point scorer in Stony Brook University women's basketball history Sunday in the Seawolves' 64-41 America East Conference victory at New Hampshire.

Pagan reached the milestone on a free throw with 2 minutes, 43 seconds remaining in the game and finished with nine points and six rebounds. Pagan, a 6-foot-1 senior forward, is averaging 9.2 points and 5.6 rebounds for Stony Brook (6-4, 4-2), the defending league champion.

Pagan was an All-America East first team pick last season and was named to the preseason all-conference team this year.

A 2017 New London High School graduate, Pagan led the Whalers to the Class LL championship and the state's No. 1 ranking as a senior, finishing her career with more than 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.

Pagan was named Day's 2017 All-Area Player of the Year and recently was honored as the newspaper's Player of the Decade.
