    H.S. lacrosse: East Lyme boys and girls remain unbeaten

    Waterford — Matt Valakos had six goals and Ryan Whaley scored five as East Lyme remained unbeaten with a 17-7 win over Waterford in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I boys' lacrosse game on Tuesday.

    Wes Williamson had three goals and two assists, Garisen Wiese scored twice, Jack Keating had a goal, Anthony Gesino and Whaley had two assists each, Valakos had three assists and Mason Gallo and Spencer Sherman combined for 12 saves for the Vikings (11-0, 8-0).

    Oliver Searle had four goals, Johan Zimmerman scored twice, Nate Houggy had a goal, Quincy Foren and Trevor Stringer each had an assist and Jake Kozlowski made nine saves for Waterford (5-7, 2-5). 

    In other games:

    • James Deichler scored eight goals and had two assists as Fitch beat Woodstock Academy 18-12 in an ECC Division I game. Josh Letellier had four goals and an assist, Ty Peters had three goals and two assists and Evan Salem had two goals and three assists for Fitch (7-3, 5-2).

    • Anthony Ballestrini and Nolan Brown had four goals and an assist each as Norwich Free Academy beat Montville 17-4. Tommy Brunelli (three assists), Quinn Perkins (two assists), Matt Langley and Connor DeVega had two goals each, Sam Sweeney made nine saves and Logan Jenkins (two assists), Sam Thompson, Maxx Piolunek and Micah Tarlton had a goal each for NFA (5-7). Ayden Frechette, Connor Gaughan, Antonio Brown and Sawyer Tighe scored for Montville (4-7).

    Girls

    • Nancy Alden scored six goals to lead unbeaten East Lyme to a 22-1 win over Woodstock in an ECC Division I game. Ryan Nagle had four goals and three assists, Sydney Sager had four goals, Skylar Provencher scored three goals and Izzy Pazzaglia had two assists for the Vikings (11-0, 9-0). Caroline Real, Izzy Mazzi and Ashton Felix had a goal and an assist each, Meg Nagle and Meredith Healy each scored and Dani Bruno had an assist for East Lyme. 

    • Maddie McLeod had eight goals and Kate English scored seven as Ledyard beat Wheeler/Grasso Tech 21-8 in an ECC Division II game. Madi Leyko had three goals, Jess English scored twice, Clare Inyang had a goal and Leyko and and McLeod had two assists each for Ledyard (6-5, 6-2). Grace Armstrong had four goals and an assist, Katelyn Melinosky had two goals and an assist and Leah Pion scored  twice for Wheler (2-9, 2-9).

    • Williams School ended its season with a 16-1 win over St. Andrew's. Ellie Fader and Skylar Frost had three goals and two assists each, Lucy Fader had two goals and two assists and Sarah Cole and Navia Ladd had two goals and two assists each for the Blues (4-1). Amaya Butler had a goal and an assist and Marlee Anselmi and Allie Iccobellis each scored their first varsity goal for Williams.

    • Maddox Burton had five goals and an assist and Kaylea McCourt scored three goals and had four assists as Bacon Academy beat New London 19-6 in an ECC Division II game. Sarah Newton had three goals, Skylar Gustvasen and Joely Stella had two goals and two assists each, Shannon Hickey and Anna LeGault had a goal and an assist each and Megan Swanke, Camryn Grasso and Jessica Schuth had a goal each for Bacon (10-3, 8-0). Emilia Skrabacz had four goals and Aislinn Strecker scored twice for New London (3-9, 3-9).

    • Fitch beat Stonington 17-6 in an ECC Division I game. Senior Jessica Russo scored twice, senior Olivia Brookhart made nine saves and seniors Clair Luethy, Elizabeth Clang and Carly Zingus combined for seven ground balls, three takeaways and one interception for Fitch (10-2, 7-2). Bridget O'Leary (five assists), Rita Sefransky and Nora Casey scored four goals each for Fitch.

    • Old Lyme lost to North Branford 13-9 in a Shoreline Conference game. Ella Curtiss-Reardon scored three goals, Hayden Saunders made 22 saves, Emily Mesham had two goals and an assist, Sydney Goulding and Sadie Bowman had a goal and an assist each and Bella Orlando and Caroline Crolius each scored a goal for Old Lyme (6-7, 4-5).

    • Maddie Gould and Reagan Buscetto scored four goals each as Montville beat St. Bernard 15-2 in an ECC Division II game. Lily Tomczik had three goals, Kate Bowman scored twice and Addie Concascia and Grace Sanford had a goal each for Montville (11-3, 9-1). Liu Li and Liz Hannaford scored for the Saints (3-7, 3-7).
