    H.S. lacrosse: Deichler helps Fitch boys cruise past NFA

    Groton — Fitch High School's James Deichler had four goals and two assists Thursday in a 14-6 senior night win over Norwich Free Academy in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I boys' lacrosse game.

    Evan Salen and Ty Peters had three goals each for Fitch (8-3, 6-2) and Josh Letellier had two goals and two assists. Shawn Beebe had 15 ground balls. Nolan Brown had three goals and an assist for NFA (5-8, 1-7), Anthony Bollestini had two goals and an assist and Sam Sweeney made 23 saves.

    In other games:

    • Nick Cox had four goals and two assists for Old Lyme in a 9-7 victory over Old Saybrook in a Shoreline Conference matchup. Owen Macadam (3 assists) and Sam Mullaney each added two goals for Old Lyme, Brendan O'Brien had a goal and an assist and Dan Stack made six saves. Old Lyme is 6-8, 6-4.

    • Jason Consiglio had five goals and two assists for Bacon Academy in a 23-4 victory over Ledyard/Griswold in an ECC Division II game. Jake Chapman and Gavin Emmons each had four goals for Bacon (12-1, 8-0), which led 10-2 after one quarter, and Tyler Graham had three goals and four assists. Cam Reynolds had all four goals for Ledyard/Griswold (2-9, 2-6).

    • Max Sarwar had three goals and an assist for Williams in a 16-5 loss to Hoosac School of New York in the finals of the Rhode Island "Salty/Briny Cup." Ben Xenelis added two goals for Williams, which finished the season 7-1, Robbie Darling and Cody Delaurentis each had two assists and JD Delaurentis picked up nine ground balls.

    Girls

    • Abbie Belleville scored with 26 seconds remaining to beat Stonington 9-8 in an ECC Division I game. Dani Bruno had four goals and an assist for East Lyme (12-0, 10-0) and Belleville finished with two goals and an assist. Megan Detwiler had four goals for Stonington (8-4, 6-4), which led 4-3 at halftime, and Ivy Goodman had three.

    • Maddie Corbeil had six goals and Bridget O'Leary four goals and five assists for Fitch in an 18-6 victory over NFA in ECC Division I. Jessicca Russo had four goals, Sophia Clang three goals and an assists, Stella Connell two assists and Olivia Brookhart 11 saves for Fitch, which finished the regular season 11-2 overall, 8-2 in the ECC. NFA is 1-12, 1-9.

    • Lilly Cody had seven goals and three assists for Old Saybrook in a 15-8 victory over Old Lyme in the Shoreline Conference. Emily Mesham had three goals for Old Lyme (7-8, 5-6), Sadie Bowman one goal and two assists and Hayden Saunders 12 saves.

    • Maddie McLeod had five goals in Ledyard's 7-5 win over Griswold in ECC Division II. Kate English and Maddie Leyko added one goal each for Ledyard (7-5, 7-2) and Bella Drummond made four saves. Kenadee Rubino had a pair of goals for Griswold (6-7, 5-5). The game was tied 4-4 at halftime.
