Make A Difference: Covenant Shelter of New London
Who: Five families and 10 homeless individuals staying at the Covenant Shelter.
Agency: Covenant Shelter of New London.
The situation: Five families with children are staying at the shelter, as are 10 single men sharing the shelter’s dorm. Due to the pandemic and other unforeseen issues, such as a house fire, loss of jobs due to companies closing, these clients need basic assistance to help them get by while the shelter helps them find stable housing. All are actively working or seeking work.
What to give: Small-dollar amount gas cards (Stop & Shop cards can be used for gas!), small-dollar amount gift cards from Walmart, Target or other local stores, bus passes, sweatshirts and sweatpants of all sizes. Arts and crafts kits for the children, washable plastic toys, baby bottles, wipes, and diapers sizes 4, 5 and 6.
To donate: Any assistance can be sent to the Covenant Shelter, 42 Jay St., New London, CT 06320. Please note that your gift is for a “Make a Difference Family.”
