A good day for ice sculptures
Mystic — Louis Manzoni of Art In Ice in Warwick, R.I., offered a demonstration of ice-carving techniques Saturday at Olde Mistick Village, creating a gleaming snowflake ice sculpture before the very eyes of curious onlookers.
It was part of the outdoor shopping mall's Ice in the Village event, which runs through Sunday and includes displays of ice sculptures, a scavenger hunt, and princess and pirate costume contests.
Saturday saw wintry cold temperatures across the region, perfect conditions for ice.
