Beethoven's "Ghost" to be performed at La Grua Center Saturday.
When Beethoven composed "Ghost," he could not have foreseen the Patrick Swayze film of the same name, or the baroque pop metal group Ghost, or even "Ghost," the CBS show the network describes, as it has been known to do, as "the hilarious new comedy."
Do NOT be confused, though. When you attend the latest Music Matters concert Saturday at the La Grua Center in Stonington, the exquisite chamber group Hilary Castle & Company will be nuancing the Beethoven "Ghost."
No Swayze. No metal. No hilarity, sitcom-style.
Joining violinist Castle will be cellist Ani Kalayjian and highly acclaimed pianist/conductor Miloš Repický, who will be playing the center's newly restored Mason & Hamlin grand. Also on the program are Haydn's "Gypsy" and Jennifer Higdon's "Color Through" (2003) 1. Pale Yellow.
