Groton meeting on Dec. 4 for those disturbed by Trump victory
Groton ― The Groton Democratic Town Committee and Rise Up Mystic are inviting all those “disturbed about the outcome of the recent presidential election” to gather Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. at Palmers and Provisions in Noank.
According to a press release for the event, the purpose is to provide an opportunity “for like-minded people to gather, talk, and support one another while discussing ways to move forward and be involved at the local level.”
Natalie Billing, chair of the Groton Democratic Town Committee says "It's important for us to remember that over 74 million people voted with us. We are not alone. We are not some small, inconsequential group. We are literally half the voters. The outcome of this election was incredibly close. We need to stand strong for what we believe in. The best way to do that is to be involved at the local level, by being involved with your local Democratic Town Committees.“
Anyone unable to attend, but who would like to stay involved can call (860) 536-2558, visit the committee website at grotondems.org, or on Facebook at grotonctdemocrats.
