Lyme grand list grows by 1.45 percent

Lyme — The town saw 1.45 percent growth on its total net taxable grand list, from $522,512,342 in 2016 to $530,105,917 in 2017.

Net regular real estate assessments grew by 0.96 percent to $489,759,415 in 2017. Net motor vehicle assessments increased by 8.94 percent to $23,293,740 in 2017. Net personal property assessments rose by 35.09 percent, from $7,225,708 in 2016 to $9,761,202 in 2017.

Tax Assessor Debra Yeomans attributes most of the increase in the grand list to the regular building permits, new and completed. One large permit was the new Reynolds' Subaru showroom.
