Mohegan — Mohegan Sun’s slot-machine revenue in May was down 7.7 percent over the same month last year, the 11th straight month in which the casino reported a year-over-year decline.

Foxwoods Resort Casino, which has been experiencing similar monthly declines, was expected to release its May figures Monday.

Mohegan Sun reported Friday that it “won,” or kept, $47.8 million in slots revenue after paying out prizes last month, nearly $4 million less than it kept in May 2018. Its “handle,” the total amount players pumped into the machines last month before prizes were paid, totaled $586.9 million, 4.9 percent less than the $616.9 million wagered in the same month the previous year.

The casino paid 25 percent of its monthly slots win to the state — $11.9 million.
