Mystic — Two offerings from the line of Prima Barista hard iced coffees recently received four gold medals at the Denver International Spirits Competition.

Dave Cornell and his wife, Amy, launched the brand last year with the assistance of consultant Jason Kane, who helped create Mike's Hard Lemonade.

Prima Barista Hard Iced Coffee is made from a blend of gourmet coffee, premium vodka, real cream and natural flavors, and has an alcohol content of 12.5%.

The company's Hard Iced Vanilla Latte and Hard Iced Mocha Frappé won gold medials in both the tasting/judging competition and the design/packaging competition last month. The prestigious competition is one of only a handful of international spirit competitions.

"There were huge distilleries/companies competing including Gallo, Jose Cuervo, Sazerac, Cutwater Spirits, etc., so this is very exciting for our little Mystic company to be recognized," Cornell said.
