Westerly -- The Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce has announced that it sold more than $267,000 worth of gift certificates in 2021, smashing its previous record by $40,000.

The certificates, which never expire, are good at more than 300 businesses in Pawcatuck, Stonington and Mystic, Conn., and Westerly, Richmond, Hopkinton and Charlestown, R.I.

“One hundred percent of every penny generated by this program supports small businesses in the chamber family as we do not deduct administration fees. It’s truly one of the strongest member benefits we offer as we literally bolster the economy and pay some businesses 10 - 15 times what their dues investment is,” said chamber President Lisa Konicki.

Certificates are sold only at the chamber and come in $10, $25 and $50 denominations.
