Spicy McNuggets return to the menu at some Connecticut McDonald's
A limited-edition item has returned to spice up McDonald's menu.
Starting in early November, Spicy McNuggets are back on the menu of some McDonald's across the country for a limited time, the chain told ABC News. The McNuggets are breaded in a crispy coating that is spiced with a blend of aged cayenne and chili pepper, the McDonald's website reads.
The nuggets were first introduced in 2020, according to a news release from the chain. After their introduction, they quickly gained popularity, selling out within the first two weeks of their launch, Business Insider reported. They have become a regular seasonal offering and while McDonald's hasn't promoted the return of the spicy nuggets to their menu this year much online, news outlets like ABC News and food bloggers like Markie Devo have been quick to share the news.
Employees at the McDonald's locations at 340 Main St. in Norwalk, the I-95 Southbound Service Plazas in Darien and Fairfield, 2 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury and the I-95 North Service Plaza in Fairfield confirmed their locations are serving the spicy nuggets. More locations selling the limited-edition nuggets can be found using the McDonald's app.
However, not all McDonald's in the Nutmeg State have spicy nuggets on the menu. Employees at 439 Bridgeport Ave. in Milford, 280 Kimberly Ave. in New Haven, 129 Washington Ave. in North Haven and 1799 Farmington Ave. in Unionville confirmed their locations are not offering them.
The price of the limited edition chicken nuggets varies by location. At service plazas in Connecticut, which have become notable in recent years for their high prices, costs range from $4.29 (for four) to $30.58 (for 40), according to the McDonald's app. At most other locations in the Nutmeg State, prices range from $3.39 to $15.99.
