Olde Mistick Village holds ‘Scarecrows in the Village’
Mystic – Olde Mistick Village is hosting its first “Scarecrows in the Village,” where 35 OMV stores and restaurants are vying for their scarecrows to be dubbed “Best in Crow.”
Since September, visitors have been strolling the open-air village to see the creative displays of scarecrows crafted by Olde Mistick Village merchants.
Voting ends at midnight Monday, Oct. 10. People can vote in person by looking for the QR code on the placard that is pinned to each scarecrow. They can also vote online for their favorite scarecrow at https://eddy.pro/form/60548.
Stephen Clemente, owner/founder of Extra Virgin Olive Oil store who is the founder of this event, said this year they only have one prize category, “Best in Crow,” but in future years they will have multiple categories as the competition expands.
The winning scarecrows and the winning visitor will be announced on Oct. 11 on the OMV website and through the OMV social channels.
Ribbons will be awarded to the top 3 scarecrows. Additionally, one randomly selected visitor who votes will be selected to receive a $100 OMV gift certificate.
