Digging the ‘Dirt’
When Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Jordan Davis steps onstage at Foxwoods’ Premier Theater Saturday, fans will be —
Hold on a minute!
That’s the wrong Jordan Davis!
The “Jordan Davis” coming to Foxwoods on what’s billed the “Damn Good Time!” tour is the emergent country-pop singer. Davis is a relative newcomer, but already his hits include “Singles You Up,” “Take It from Me,” “Slow Dance in the Parking Lot” and “Buy Dirt,” the latter being a duet with Luke Bryan that went on to win the CMA Song of the Year.
Earlier this year, Davis released his second album, “Bluebird Days,” and, in happily atypical fashion for the country music biz, he writes or co-writes almost all the material on his records. There’s something genuinely appealing and sincere about the Shreveport, Louisiana native, and it shines through his material. No reason to believe it’ll be any other way in concert.
Jordan Davis, 8 p.m. Saturday, Premier Theater, Foxwoods; $35-$85; foxwoods.com.
