Putting ‘blue’ in a musical evening
The Norwich Arts Council reignites its First Friday concert series on, well, Friday with a performance by the James Limerick Kerr Duo, a recently formed acoustic bluegrass/blues act out of New Haven. The show takes place in the facility’s Donald L. Oat Theater.
Kerr is a multi-instrumentalist/vocalist with a PhD in classical guitar performance and a member of the Music Performance faculty at Columbia University.
The titularly unnamed half of the duo is Sid Hirschman, who adds rhythm guitar and voice to the texture of the group. Expect to be entertained, and listen for tunes from the 2023 debut album “Reasons and Rivers.”
James Limerick Kerr Duo, 8 p.m. Friday, Donald L. Oat Theater, Norwich Arts Center, 62 Broadway, Norwich; $15-$20; norwicharts.org, (860) 887-2789.
