Slash brings S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival to Foxwoods

    Slash (Slash Facebook)

Just so you get this straight: When Slash brings his S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival Friday to the Premier Theater at Foxwoods, do NOT expect any Guns ‘N Roses, Slash’s Snakepit or Velvet Revolver tunes. Instead, Slash is out in support of his latest recording, “Orgy of the Damned” – which is a guest star-clustered collection of mostly blues covers with a sprinkling of soul and rock classics.

This shouldn’t deter or surprise Slash fans; the fellow has a long track record of blues explorations. And his passion for the form is more than capably demonstrated onstage.

Plus, the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. tour – the acronym stands for Solidarity, Engagement, Restore, Peace, Equality, N’, Tolerance – will benefit a variety of applicable causes. And it’s not just Slash. You’ll see an evening’s worth of fine support acts including Kingfish, Samantha Fish, Keb’ Mo’, Warren Haynes, Eric Gales, Larkin Poe and more.

With all this, who needs “November Rain”?

    Slash’s S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival, 7 p.m. Friday, Premier Theater, Foxwoods; $62-$147; foxwoods.com.
