Boy George and Squeeze team up for Mohegan Sun concert
The current Squeeze/Boy George tour, coming Sunday to the Mohegan Sun Arena, is one of those flip-floppy deals where promoters and the acts couldn’t decide who was the bigger name, so they alternate opening/closing each night.
And it’s understandable. They’re two of the biggest names of the New Wave era.
From my perspective, I’d much rather see Squeeze as the headliner because, well, they’re a lot cooler — one of the best songwriting bands of the last 75 years.
“WAIT!” you say. “That’s the entire history of rock ‘n’ roll!”
Yes, it is.
On the other hand, it looks as though each performer is doing essentially the same set each evening regardless of who plays last — so this means Codger-People like me can get the full Squeeze experience and still be in bed early.
And if you’re a Boy George fan, well, your dude is headlining!
