Show your support for Kevin James
I’m one of those fools who owns probably 30-plus rock band T-shirts or hoodies — and those are just the ones that still fit and aren’t in a box in the attic.
And it occurs to me that, as far as I can remember, not once have I ever seen someone wearing a shirt purchased to display one’s affection for a stand-up comic.
And yet … if you go onto the official websites for many comedians, they have a merch link where you can in fact buy T-shirts supporting your favorite laugh-provider. Does no one buy them? Are comedy fans not brazenly proud of their heroes?
Kevin James is coming Friday to the Premier Theater at Foxwoods on his “Owls Don’t Walk” tour. And the star, whose resume includes not just stand-up but a storied and successful career on television and film and in social media, has plenty of T-shirts and sweatshirts available. Probably some with owls on them!
Given that James is very funny — if you haven’t seen his “Sound Man” short videos on his YouTube channel, you should do so immediately — there will be plenty of you in attendance for this show. Buy a T-shirt. I want proof that somebody buys these things.
Kevin James, 8 p.m. Friday, Premier Theater, Foxwoods; $70 and up; foxwoods.com.
