Art film series begins April 26

Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts and the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center will launch a curated film series, “Bridging the Arts,” this month. The series will feature art films owned by the college and produced by the Checkerboard Film Foundation in New York City, which documents artists whose contributions informed American culture. Regional curators and other noted authorities will give brief lectures before each film.

The series will run on Tuesdays through June, starting Tuesday, April 26, with “Ellsworth Kelly: Fragments”; the next films will screen on May 24 (“Roy Lichtenstein: Reflections”) and June 21 (“Kiki Smith: Squatting the Palace”). All films begin at 4 p.m.

Tickets for each film are $15 and may be purchased at http://katharinehepburntheater.org. For more information, call The Kate’s box office at (877) 503-1286.
