The Bill Memorial Library, 240 Monument St., Groton, CT
The Bill Memorial Library joins the Make Music Day, Southeastern CT celebration by hosting the string duo Patina on Thursday, June 21, 2018, from 5:30 to 6:30. Make Music Day is a one-day event where free, live musical performances, opportunities to make music and other musical events take place around the world on the longest day of the year. Musical festivities in Southeastern Connecticut are part of a global celebration of music making in over 750 cities inspired by France’s Fête de la Musique.
The Bill Memorial Library invites everyone from professional musicians to people who have never picked up an instrument to join in the global music celebration by enjoying the music of Patina. Patina performs a mix of bluegrass, Celtic, and North American-style music. This string duo features Laura Lynne Stetler on fiddle & violin and Jacob Wysoski on banjo & guitar and, together, they will fill the air with “airs, rags, jigs, hornpipes, marches, reels, and waltzes...some set to animated bluegrass tempos and always sweetly voiced with some classical shimmer. We look forward to sharing this music with you! "
This event is free and no registration is required. Patina will perform in our outdoor amphitheater, located at the back of the library property, weather permitting. For more information, please call the library at 860-445-0392.
