This social media stuff is powerful. Consider flash mobs, for just one example. The word goes out, folks show up, meaningless fun ensues. Take that concept a step further. From 1-6 p.m. Saturday in New London, an event called "The Photo Plug" takes place. Coordinated by an Instagram group (@thephotoplug), beaucoup creative types — photographers, models, makeup artists, videographers etcetera — will meet at the Soldier and Sailors Monument and, well, collaborate spontaneously. There's no agenda, focus, or plan other than to see what might happen. A previous Photo Plug event in Hartford drew almost 200 people of varying age groups. For more information, access @thephotoplug.
