The Catherine Fosnot Art Gallery and Center opens Friday in New London
The Catherine Fosnot Art Gallery and Center is the latest of New London's fine arts spaces, celebrating with a grand opening reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
The gallery is at 165 State St. in the atrium of the Harris Building, and the initial exhibit features Fosnot's own works.
Fosnot, who is a math educator as well as an artist, created the show's catalog as the global pandemic forced widespread closures. The exhibit runs through Oct. 10.
Two members of the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, violinist Joan Winters and cellist Matilda Petrela, will perform at the opening as part of the new "ECSO Soundscape" series.
Regular hours for the Catherine Fosnot Art Gallery and Center will be noon-7 p.m. Thurs.-Sat. To RSVP for the opening and for other information, go to www.thecatherinefosnotartgalleryandcenter.com.
