Thames River Gallery opens 'Whimsies and More'

Two well-known New England artists will be featured in the first exhibition of the newly renamed Thames River Gallery, 239 Bank St., New London.
Called "Whimsies and More," the exhibition features regional model makers and artists Roger Marshall and Tod Johnstone. Marshall, of Jamestown, R.I., and Johnstone, of Mystic, will display their intricate and realistic ships models and other pieces.
Johnstone’s work goes on display Thursday. Marshall’s work goes on display April 22. Pieces by both artists will remain on exhibition through June 3.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tues.-Fri.; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sat.; closed Sun. and Mon.
