Olde Mistick Village hosts Garlic Festival
Garlic stuffed burgers. Bacon corn fritters with garlic ranch. House-made garlic herb potato chips.
Is your mouth watering yet?
Those dishes (made and sold by, respectively, Harp & Dragon of Norwich, Ryan’s Pub of Groton, and Bank & Bridge Brewing of Mystic) are among the garlic-happy offerings at the long-running (as in 14th annual) and ever-popular Garlic Festival at Olde Mistick Village this weekend.
Farmers will be on site to sell all sorts of garlic, along with a range of produce, jams and more. More than 40 merchants, artisans, authors and artists will showcase their work, and Olde Mistick Village stores will sell their own garlic-centric products and even highlight some garlic-related activities. A whole array of area musicians will perform throughout the festival.
And here's one more dish that is very intriguing: garlic lemon ice from Chet's Italian Ice of Vernon.
Garlic Festival, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Sat. and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sun., Olde Mistick Village, 27 Coogan Boulevard, Mystic; oldemistickvillage.com.
