    Norwich welcomes back Winterfest Parade

Well, this is perfect: after the pandemic caused the cancelation of last year’s Winterfest Parade in Norwich, this year’s theme is “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”

The Grinch did steal last year's holiday festivities, but Winterfest returns Sunday, with a different format. Groups will perform in three locations — near the rotary, by the intersection after Artspace, and at the intersection by the courthouse.

For those attending who find themselves needing some sustenance: you can buy hot cider donuts from Dude's Donuts in the These Guys Brewing Co. parking lot; you can purchase kettle corn from Jeff's Kettle Corn in the PIE HOPS parking lot; you can sip free hot chocolate at several locations, including Eastern CT Savings Bank, Chelsea Groton Bank Downtown Branch, Chestnut Street Playhouse, and Foundry 66.

Winterfest Parade, 1 p.m. Sunday, downtown Norwich; gonorwichct.com.
