Scaled-back Hygienic Art Show XLIII takes place this weekend

EDITOR'S NOTE: Due to a potential Nor'easter, the schedule for the Hygienic Art Weekend has changed as per below.

The main art show will take place on Feb. 5. Anyone is invited to hang one piece of art inside the Hygienic Art Gallery. Any medium is allowed — artists of all abilities are encouraged — and there's no entry fee, no judge, no jury and no censorship. Bring it on!

If you're a sculptor or a mixed-media artist, or one of those ceiling-of-the-Sistine-Chapel types whose painting is over six feet in size, the larger or more cumbersome pieces will be hung in the Salon de Grande Large Format Art Gallery at 38 Green Street.

Doors open for instillation at 8 a.m. Feb. 5 and the show starts at 7 p.m.

The 2022 Hyg Art Screening Room short film festival takes place as scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. And the Hygienic Young Artists' Expo, displaying works by any and all creative youngsters and scheduled to happen from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday in Expressiones Cultural Center, has been cancelled altogether.
