The Bill Memorial Library, 240 Monument St., Groton, CT , 06340

The Bill Memorial Library in the City of Groton is now taking registration for our Wonderful Winter Story Time, a story program for children ages birth through age 5, with a caregiver. Story Time meets every Monday at 10:30 a.m., beginning on January 28, 2019 through March 25, with no session on Presidentís Day, February 18. Story Time features stories, songs with live music, and finger plays in the Childrenís Room. CT Powerboating Certification & Personal Watercraft Operation Course;


New England Science & Sailing Foundation, 72 Water St, Stonington, CT , 06378

Learn the basics of powerboating at NESS and get your CT Safe Powerboating Certificate. This 8-hour course satisfies the CT DEEP classroom requirement for students to receive their Safe Boating Certificate and/or their Certificate of Personal Watercraft. Although entirely classroom based, participants get a chance to handle and work with all required boating safety equipment. The US Coast Guard, US Powerboating, and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) have approved this course.

This course is taught by NESS Educators with a USCG Captainsí license. NESS Educators have thousands of hours of experience on the water with students of all ages. They make this content packed course interesting and applicable to the real boating world!

Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive their Safe Boating Certificate (SBC) / Certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation (CPWO). No prerequisites are required for this course.

Please be aware, this class needs a minimum of 4 participants to run.

*One day courses will run from 9:00-5:00pm

*Evening courses will run from 6:00-9:00pm each night
