Breath of Spring Exhibit at Studio 33 Art & Frame Gallery. Familiar views of New London, CT by local New London artist Robert J. Hauschild. The exhibit includes a sizable rendering of historic Union Station, the last and largest railroad station designed by famed architect H. H. Richardson, and his best according to biographer Henry-Russell Hitchcock; and an Ocean Beach scene, both in acrylic. There is also a view of the historic Winthrop Mill or Old Town Mill, at Briggs Brook, on Mill St., in watercolor. The show opened on April 15, 2019 and will run through May 25, 2019, at 140 Bank St., Downtown New London, CT, Tues.-Fri. 9:00 to 5:00, Sat. 10:00 to 3:00, Appts. Available. The Veterans’ Coffeehouse is a comfortable location for ALL veterans and their spouses to socialize and receive information regarding veterans’ benefits and services.
The Coffeehouse is open to all veterans at no cost. The Coffeehouse relies on local donations and the commitment of RSVP volunteers to serve the veteran community. The established Coffeehouses draw as many as 50 veterans who enjoy the comradery and speakers including authors, historians and representatives from the VA.
The Corporation for National and Community Service funds Senior Corps RSVP programs to serve local community needs. RSVP volunteers are instrumental in meeting this and other community needs in our area.
