M.A.E.C. 42nd GOOD FRIDAY WALK, APRIL 7th 2023

The Mystic Area Ecumenical Council is holding its annual Good Friday walk. This (up to) 7-mile walk will take place on Friday April 7th from Mystic Congregational Church (UCC), 43 East Main Street, to Old Mystic Methodist church and back. Walkers easily see stations of the cross along the way. The purpose of the walk is to support our local food agencies in Groton and Stonington and rural communities in Alabama and Mississippi (www.WalkingOnGoodFriday.org) through Sharing Inc. Worship services 12 noon and 7 p.m.

Prayer Vigil 1 p.m.—3 p.m.

The Good Friday liturgy will be observed at noon and 7 p.m. Sign-ups for half-hour portions of the silent prayer vigil will be available the week before.

Acclaimed environmental writer Elizabeth Rush, author of The Quickening: On Motherhood and Antarctica in the Twenty First Century and Rising: Dispatches from the New American Shore, will be the speaker at the sixth annual President’s Distinguished Lecture Series at Connecticut College at 7 p.m., Monday, April 10, in the Athey Center for Performance and Research at Palmer Auditorium.
