The Friends of Fort Griswold cordially invite you to a festive gathering around a glowing bonfire on the grounds of Fort Griswold Battlefield, Saturday, December 10, from 11:00AM – 2:30PM. Join with neighbors and other fort enthusiasts to share a warm beverage, some tasty sweets, and roast some marshmallows over the fire. Try your hand at an old fashioned game or two and climb the 166 steps to the top of the monument for an amazing view. Do some last minute holiday shopping of great books, patches, and other Revolutionary War memorabilia.
Our special guest, Saxophone Santa, arrives at 12:30 pm.
Our docents will take you on guided tours of the fort at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. Travel back to 1781 as they retell the fascinating history of the Revolutionary War battle that took place at Fort Griswold.
In the event of rain, we will move the festivities inside the Monument House Museum.
