Celebrated chef Jacques Pepin will speak Nov. 27 at Alforno Trattoria's Piedmontese Wine Dinner.

Alforno is located at 1654 Boston Post Road in Old Saybrook.

Pepin will share the stories behind his new book, "Menus: A Book for Your Meals and Memories," and all dinner guests will get a signed copy. During his 50-year career, Pepi has designed numerous hand-illustrated dinner menus as a way of keeping a journal of special meals prepared for friends, birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and holidays. His "Menus" book is filled with more than 75 designed borders, allowing people to capture their own creations and memories. The back of each page provides space for each guest to sign and add comments.

Pepin's original signed menus are now part of the jacquespepinart.com limited printed fine art collection, some of which will remain on display at Alforno through the holiday season.
