    H.S. lacrosse roundup: Holdridge, LaForte lead Lancers to victory

    Waterford — Caleb Holdridge had three goals and three assists and Michael LaForte added five assists for his 100th career point as the Waterford boys’ lacrosse team downed previously unbeaten Old Lyme on Tuesday, 12-3, in a nonconference game.

    Ryan Huta had four goals for the Lancers (3-1) and Logan Bowdish had two goals and an assist. Also, Mason LaForte had two goals and Kyle Jacobson scored.

    Mike Kolesnik had two goals, Alec Speirs scored, and James Rollins had 12 saves for the Wildcats (3-1).

    In other games:

    • Robbie Swenson had four goals and three assists to pace East Lyme past Bacon Academy, 10-5. Connor Schofner had two goals and an assist, James McCoy had two goals and Andrew Alden had a goal and an assist for East Lyme (2-1). Tyler Smallidge also scored and Mac Fusaro had 10 saves. Dylan Heald had three goals, Ethan Cuadro a goal and an assist, and Matt Voiland scored for the Bobcats (0-1).

    • Jack O’Leary four goals and three assists and Pat Brady added two goals and three assists as St. Bernard/Wheeler downed Ledyard, 19-3, to remain unbeaten. Aaron Clark and Scott Pion both had three goals and Roland Long and Billy Niles scored twice for the Saints (4-0). Also, Kevin Velez had three assists, Emmett Brady had a goal and an assist, and Brandon Weimert scored. Ryan Kinney had two goals for the Colonels (0-2) and Isaiah Spaulding scored.

    • Riley Jordan scored four goals and Cristian Snodgrass had three saves in goal to lead Fitch past Montville 9-3. Sam Kury, Tanner Diamantini and Derek Debbis each scored a goal for Montville (1-4). Fitch remains unbeaten at 3-0.

    • Mathew Kolashuk had three goals and two assists and Ryan Foster scored three times as NFA beat Griswold 15-2. Chris Ladyga had two goals and four assists, Rye Walencewicz and Dominic Renfree had two goals and an assist each and Matt Langley had a goal and an assist for the Wildcats (1-2), who led 8-0 after one quarter. 

    Girls

    • Maggie O’Leary and Zoe Pearse both had four goals as Fitch downed Montville, 13-9. Dainelle McIllgreham had two goals, Nora Ryan scored, and Katie Wagner added 12 saves for Fitch (2-0), which led 10-3 at halftime. Kenzie Ullrich had four goals for the Indians (1-2) and Alexis DeLucia and Jenna Banta both scored twice.

    • Megan Larmann had four goals and an assist for Ledyard in a 10-5 victory over St. Bernard in an ECC Division II matchup. Maddie Pipech, Avery Samokar and Sabrina Mitchell added two goals each for the Colonels (1-1, 1-0). Bridget Feeley scored four times for St. Bernard, which was playing its season opener.
