    H.S. roundup: Sarwar scores game winner for Williams boys' lacrosse

    Waterford — Max Sarwar scored the game winner with two minutes to play as the Williams School beat St. Thomas More 11-10 in a boys' lacrosse game Monday.

    James Knowlton scored five goals, Harry Anselmi had three goals, an assist and controlled 14 ground balls and Sarwar scored twice for the Blues (3-2).

    In other games:

    • Devin Napoli scored four times and Cam Ellis, Ben Hassen and Zack Hochman each had three goals as Notre Dame of West Haven downed East Lyme 18-6. Notre Dame is 4-4. James McCoy had four goals for East Lyme (4-2) and Blane Hart and Robbie Swenson both scored.

    Girls' lacrosse

    • Mia Londregan had six goals and Bridget Feeley scored five as St. Bernard beat Wheeler 12-2. Lindsay Clement had two goals for St. Bernard (2-1), which had a season-high 34 ground balls. Hannah Gomes and Gracie Anderson scored and Blakely Hewes made 10 saves for Wheeler (0-3).

    Softball

    • Winning pitcher Isabel Siciliano struck out nine and had two hits as East Lyme beat Ledyard 4-2 in an ECC Division I game. Mya Delesdernier doubled and scored a run and Angie Venditti doubled and drove in a run for East Lyme (3-4, 3-1). Madison Sanborn struck out 12 for Ledyard (5-4, 1-3).

    • Lainnie Connor was 3-for-3 with two triples, two RBI and two runs scored for Stonington in a 6-3 victory over Westerly. Westerly led 2-0 after the top of the first inning, but Stonington scored one in the first, one in the second and two runs in the third on a two-run triple by Connor to take the lead. Abby Flakus tripled and Miranda Arruda and Erin Craig each had doubles for Stonington (7-2).

    • Ellie Hohlfelder pitched a five-hitter and Karly Morales had three hits and scored four runs as Fitch beat New London 12-4 in an ECC Division I game. Casey Flax drove in three runs and scored twice, Meagan Giwoyna and Emelie Pope drove in two runs each and Angelina Doak had a double for Fitch (3-5, 2-2). Freshman Alexia Liriano had two hits and classmates Princess Hernandez and Ella Cook drove in runs for New London (1-6, 0-3).

    • Taylor Leckey's RBI single in the eighth inning lifted No. 8-ranked Hand past Waterford 4-3. Rachel Miller had three hits and an RBI while Ciana Chiappone and Taylor Lee each added two hits and an RBI for Waterford (5-3).

    • Haddam-Killingworth scored four runs — two unearned — in the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie and beat Old Lyme 7-3 in the Shoreline Conference. Maddie Cann had a solo home run and Audrey Gavin had two hits and scored a run while Grace Lathrop added a two-run double for Old Lyme (6-3, 5-3), which made four errors.

    Boys' golf

    • Pat Looney shot a 41 to earn medalist honors, leading Old Lyme past East Hampton 179-247 in a Shoreline Conference match at Black Hall Club in Old Lyme. Thomas Creagan had 43 and Peter MacAdam a 46 for the Wildcats.

    Girls' golf

    • East Lyme's Mackenzie Allen was the medalist as the Vikings lost to Woodstock Academy 234-263. Allen shot a 56.
