    H.S.softball: Montville's Michon two-hits NFA 3-0

    Norwich — Alexis Michon pitched a two-hitter while striking out 10 and walking only one as Montville scored an impressive 3-0 softball victory over Norwich Free Academy on Tuesday.

    "She pitched one of the best games I've seen in a long time," NFA coach Bryan Burdick said. 

    The Indians (6-2) scored all three of their runs in the sixth inning despite managing just one hit — Jillian Murallo's bunt single — and finished with three hits overall. Murallo also added a triple.

    NFA (7-3) had just two singles. 

    In other games:

    • Karly Morales had four hits and drove in four runs as Fitch beat Woodstock Academy 11-5. Morales doubled twice, tripled, homered and scored two runs. Olivia Travers added two hits and drove in two runs for the Falcons (4-5).

    • Trinity Lennon and Colette Dreher had three hits each as Stonington beat New London 20-7. Abby Flakus scored four runs, Erin Craig drove in two runs and scored three times, Maggie Constantine drove in three runs, Lennon tripled, doubled, drove in three runs and scored four times and Dreher tripled and drove in two runs for Stonington (8-2). Caylee Parker (two doubles), Jaelynn Potter, Finella Smith and Ella Cook had two hits each for New London (1-7) while Parker, Smith and Cook had two RBI each and Jovanna Potter scored twice.

    • Briana Beverly's sacrifice fly drove in the winning run in the seventh inning to lift St. Bernard past Ellis Tech 3-2 in a non-conference game. Beverly went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI and Taina Quinones had an RBI triple for the Saints (3-4). Winning pitcher Emily Nelson struck out five and didn't allow an earned run.

    • Jenna Topalis tripled and scored three runs as Ledyard defeated Bacon Academy 11-3. Elsyana Morales went 2-for-4 with three RBI and Madison Sanborn was the winning pitcher for Ledyard (6-4).

    • Nikki Marsh hit a bases-loaded double, helping East Lyme edge Killingly 6-5. Winning pitcher Olivia Quagan struck six and allowed one earned run for the Vikings (4-4).

    • Isabelle Perez pitched a no-hitter as Windham beat Wheeler 9-0 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division III game. The game ended after five innings when an injury left Wheeler (1-7, 0-5) with only eight players.

    • Samarie Delgado had two singles in Grasso Tech's 24-1 loss to Parish Hill. The Eagles fell to 0-5.

    • Kaitlyn Gifford went 3-for-4 and had three RBI to power Norwich Tech past Vinal Tech 14-3 in the Connecticut Technical Conference. Erin McBride added a single and solo home run for the Warriors.
