    H.S. boys' lacrosse roundup: Bradys give St. Bernard/Wheeler buzzer-beater win over Morgan

    Montville — Pat Brady scored at the buzzer on a feed from his brother, Emmett, as the fifth-seeded St. Bernard/Wheeler co-op rallied to beat No. 12 Morgan on Wednesday, 10-9, in a CIAC Class S boys’ lacrosse second-round game.

    The Saints (14-3) trailed 5-1 late in the first quarter, and 9-8 with four minutes remaining in the game. They never led until Brady’s game-winner.

    Pat Brady had four goals, Jack O’Leary had three goals and an assist, and Scott Pion scored three times for St. Bernard/Wheeler. Also, Emmett Brady had two assists and Danny Schroeder eight saves.

    The Saints will play at No. 4 Granby in Saturday’s quarterfinals at 3 p.m. Granby beat No. 13 North Branford, 14-6, in its second-round game.

    In other games:

    • Connor Schofner had five goals and an assist and Robbie Swenson added four goals and two assists as No. 13 East Lyme downed No. 4 Berlin, 13-7, in a Class M second-round game. James McCoy scored twice, Andrew Alden and Blane Hart both had a goal and an assist, and Eric Brodeur had 10 saves for East Lyme (13-7). The Eastern Connecticut Conference champions will play at No. 12 Notre Dame of West Haven in Saturday’s quarterfinal round (3 p.m.). The Green Knights thrashed No. 5 Windsor, 17-4, in their second-round game. Notre Dame beat the Vikings on April 23, 18-6. Tyler Ralph had four goals for the Redcoats.
