    H.S. softball: Montville defeats East Lyme in ECC Division I game

    Montville — Lillie Corrice went the distance and struck out 10 as Montville defeated East Lyme 10-3 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division I softball game on Saturday morning.

    Corrice also added two hits for the Indians (3-2, 3-2) while Rori Curran drove in five runs and Jillian Murallo homered.

    Sophia Gannoe had three hits for the Vikings (0-4, 0-4), including a double.

    In other games:

    • Bacon Academy swept an ECC Division I doubleheader from New London, 15-5 and 6-4. Avianna Ibrahim had 12 strikeouts for Bacon (2-4, 2-4) and Gracie Gladding had three RBI for the Bobcats in the first game. Sammi D'Atri struck out nine in the second game for Bacon. Caylee Parker had a combined three hits and two RBI for the Whalers (0-7, 0-5).

    • Kaelin Waldron struck out 15 and allowed one hit in Griswold's 15-0 win over Putnam in an ECC Division II game. Waldron, who had pitched three consecutive no-hitters — including two perfect games — also went 4-for-4 with a double, triple and four RBI. Mandy Brehler a triple, home run, and five RBI for the Wolverines (6-0, 6-0).

    • Woodstock Academy swept St. Bernard 11-2 and 19-1 in five innings in an ECC Division II doubleheader. Angelica Tompkins had three hits and two runs scored in the first game for the Saints (0-4, 0-4).

    • Killingly swept an ECC Division II doubleheader from Wheeler, 16-4 and 16-3. Addie Hauptmann had a combined six hits and four RBI for the Lions (3-3, 3-3).
