    H.S. baseball: Griswold's Webster no-hits Windham

    Griswold — Nolan Webster pitched a no-hitter with seven strikeouts to pace Griswold past Windham, 10-0, in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division II baseball game that ended after six innings due to the mercy rule on Wednesday.

    Colin Mitchell had two hits for the Wolverines (6-8, 6-7) and Evan Gilgenbach and Chris Tonucci both doubled.

    In other games:

    • Winning pitcher Sean Raymond struck out seven over 5.2 innings and added two hits, two runs and a stolen base as New London downed Ledyard, 7-3, in an ECC Division I game. Ryan Gardiner had two hits and three RBI for the Whalers (4-10, 3-9), who have won four straight after an 0-10 start, and Anthony Rivera added a two-run single. Robert Moynihan and Walker Lenz each had two hits for the Colonels (4-9, 3-9).

    • Daylan Griffin pitched a complete game five-hitter and struck out 13 as Lyman Memorial defeated St. Bernard 4-1 in an ECC Division II game. Jeremiah Bobbi had two hits and scored a pair of runs for the Bulldogs (7-6, 7-6) while Jared Russo added an RBI double. Walker Baillargeon had a triple for the Saints (7-6, 7-6).

    • Ethan Mireault pitched a three-hitter with five strikeouts as Fitch blanked Montville, 7-0, in an ECC Division I game. Ryan O'Connor went 2-for-3, including a double, with two RBI and a run for the Falcons (8-2, 8-2) and Ramiro Zavala had a triple and two RBI. Also, Cameron McGugan had two hits and scored. The Indians are 6-4, 6-4.

    • Riley Warecke pitched a five-hitter with two strikeouts and added two hits and three RBI as Old Lyme downed Westbrook, 12-2, in a five-inning Shoreline Conference game. Colbe Andrews hit a two-run home run, Jesper Silberberg had two hits, two runs and two RBI and Alex Roth had two hits, two RBI and a run for the Wildcats (5-9, 5-9), who scored eight in the bottom of the fifth to force the mercy rule. Tait Sawden also scored twice.

    • Eddie Niejadlik pitched a two-hitter with eight strikeouts as Woodstock Academy beat Wheeler, 4-1, in an ECC Division II meet. Kyle Kessler walked and scored, Sean Bergal hit a sacrifice fly and Matt Pierce and Bradin Anderson both singled for Wheeler (2-10, 2-10).

    • Ellis Tech beat Grasso Tech, 20-1, in a five-inning Connecticut Technical Conference game. Tito Arias had three hits and an RBI for Grasso (4-5, 4-4) and Reynaldo Hidalgo singled and scored.
