UPDATED: Fitch still alive in CIAC football playoff race

The Fitch football team has a mathematical chance to qualify for the CIAC Class L playoff race but needs a miracle to quailfy.

The Falcons must beat Ledyard on Thanksgiving. They would also need wins by East Lyme, Stonington, Amity, Darien, Hamden and Lyman Hall to edge out Hand for a Class L berth.

Fitch will also qualify if East Lyme and Stonington both win and Bristol Central loses.

Thames River had its playoff hopes dashed when it was routed by Quinebaug Valley on Wednesday night, 57-13. Had Thames won, it would've made its first playoff appearance.

Killingly is currently the lone eastern Connecticut team in the playoffs and is the top seed in Class M.

The regular season ends on Thanksgiving. The playoffs begin next Tuesday with the quarterfinals.
