    H.S. tennis: St. Bernard girls tie Lyman for first in ECC Division IV race

    Montville — Olivia Busher won No. 1 singles as St. Bernard tied Lyman Memorial atop the Eastern Connecticut Conference Division IV race with a 6-2 girls' tennis victory on Thursday.

    Meri Kamboli, Blake Murray and Carmela Rangel won in singles for the Saints (4-5, 4-1). Lyman is 5-4, 4-1. Both have one division match remaining.

    In other matches:

    • Stonington rebounded from its first loss of the season with a 7-0 win over Norwich Free Academy. Grace Duggan, Maddie Gonzalez, Mia Lewandowski and Marcella Hamm won their matches for the Bears (12-1). Stonington swept doubles behind the teams of Katya Snegovskikh-Katie Johnstone, Erin Motherway-Lauren Buckley and Misha Lewandowski-Angelina Williams. NFA is 7-5.

    • Sam Tan, Callie Bass and Olivia Schaedler didn't lose a set as Old Lyme defeated Portland 7-0 in the Shoreline Conference. Abby Sicuranza won No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-1 for the Wildcats (15-0, 13-0).

    • Allysa Mikolajczack won No. 1 singles and Norwich Tech defeated Prince Tech 6-1. Amber Kerby, Amaris Moreno and Imanni Johnson also won in singles for Norwich Tech (5-4).

    • Sarah Hage won No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-0 as Waterford defeated East Lyme 6-1 in ECC Division I. Autumn Brothers, Michele Liu and Ava Tinnerello also won in singles for the Lancers (8-4, 3-2). East Lyme is 6-5, 1-5.

    • Alanah Maranzano won No. 1 singles as Ledyard defeated Montville 7-0. Sarah Banach and Jillian Anderson also won in singles for Ledyard (7-5).
