Town: Groton

Directions: Take Interstate 95 to Exit 89, turn right onto Allyn Street, then take an immediate right onto Sandy Hollow Road. Sandy Hollow entrance is about a quarter mile on the left.
For Route 1 entrance, take I-95 to Exit 89, turn right on Allyn Street, turn right on Route 1. Entrance is on right about 0.6 mi.
Where to Park: There is a small dirt lot with parking for a few cars at each entrance.
Description: Pequot Woods encompasses 140 acres, with more than two miles of marked trails through woodlands and wetlands. Visitors will pass stone walls, streams and a pond with beaver dams and lodge.
Regulations: No motorized vehicles; dogs on a leash; no campfires.
Amenities: Several benches are located along the trails.
Natural Features: Beaver dams, ponds.
Fees: Free.

Things to note: Main trail sometimes floods and has to be rerouted when beaver dams have diverted water out of the ponds.
