New London is not Mystic, dump the bags

In New London they want to replace all the big green garbage containers and replace them with yellow plastic bags. First, I would like to know how much they paid for all those green containers and what are their plans for those containers if they go with plastic bags? This is not a good idea in New London. How are all the renters going to pay for the bags when they are just getting by paying rent? Many get government assistance to pay for rent and food.

You have to realize New London is very different than communities like Mystic and Stonington. It’s a different world on this side of the bridge. If they try to go with this plan with these plastic bags there will be garbage all around the streets.

Also, I worked as an exterminator. Rats will be everywhere. They will eat right through these bags along with the seagulls. How about the tenants who leave there garbage in hallways for maggots and roaches? It will be cockroach city.

And consider the people who collect cans for deposit. The bags will be opened by them and the wind will take the garbage through the streets. Taxpayers need to voice their opinion.
