Lester cartoon confounds fantasy and reality

The political cartoon which ran Feb. 13, depicting what seems to be an angry (overweight) feminist mob which is marching to see the latest installment of "50 Shades of Grey", instead of going to Washington, makes a strong and unfortunate statement. What Lester is saying is that the #MeToo movement is characterized by hysterical hypocrites. The point he seems to be making is that the popularity of the erotic novels which involve forms of domination invalidates the right of women to say "enough already" when sexually harassed. In doing so, he's confounding fantasy and reality. He is trivializing a movement that is long overdue, and frankly this kind of sophomoric "bro" humor does not make us men look any better. Next time, let a woman weigh in with a cartoon.
