Thomas Jefferson would be proud of Trump revolution

In 2016, the American people did what Thomas Jefferson believed they would do when faced with political elites corrupting the government; they turned to somebody else to run the country. In this case Donald Trump was their answer to what the elitists of both parties wanted.

How could that happen? Well, the Constitution of the United States put the power of election in the hands of ordinary people, like you and me, and no matter how powerful the news media is, or how corrupt the government became, the people still possessed the big hammer. They elected someone they felt would represent their beliefs and needs. That’s what they are getting: jobs, lower taxes, a growing economy, and a leader who says what he thinks.

Consider who the elites offered as president in 2008 and 2012: a guy whose only assets seemed to be he was a college graduate, a law graduate, and a neighborhood organizer. Other than that he hung out with people who had big money and a contempt for our republic and especially the hicks who vote. Because the Republican Party put up anemic candidates, the elites got what they always want, someone they could write the script for and lead from behind.

Jefferson’s ordinary people overthrew both parties; my, my.
